About Team Namer

Team Namer is a small independent site of team name generators for casual leagues, quiz nights, workplaces and friend groups. Each generator has its own word lists and its own puns, written by hand for one activity: the words for a bowling team are not the words for a book club.

Every name is built from a visible pattern, such as a describing word plus a mascot, or a term from the game plus a group word, and the pattern is shown next to the name. The same seed always gives the same names, in the page you get from the server and in your browser.

The generators give ideas. They cannot know which names are already used in your league, and no list here contains real athletes, clubs, leagues or brands. Check your league's rules and its schedule before you register a name.

There are no invented authors, reviews or ratings on this site. If something on a page is wrong, tell us and it is fixed.
